Barr Cottage has fabulous views down the Loch and to the hills and mountains beyond. Loch Fyne is well known for diving and sea fishing and the changing shoreline, myriad small bays, islands and shoals offer interesting paddling for kayaks or canoes.
The Loch is within easy reach, either walking or mountain biking, along farm and forestry tracks and footpaths via part of the Brainport Heritage trail. The shoreline is rocky along much of the coastal path but it opens out into a sheltered shingle bay at Brainport where you can spot seabirds, herons, seals and occasionally an otter at play.
Within 5 -10 minutes drive from Barr Cottage you can access miles of way-marked trails, graded for every ability, offering different experiences of the local countryside - pebble beaches, rock pools, ancient deciduous forest trails, forestry tracks, fresh water lochs and lochans, abandoned villages and an old ferry wharf.
